A Cry in the Silence

Discovering the magnificent poetess Elizavetta Mora has piqued my interest in the pantoum.  I’ve not written poetry in well over a decade, but I decided to give it a try.

In the darkness and silence

My heart burns down slowly

Embers of the past slowly fading into the gloom

Until only a wolfsong remains

My heart burns down slowly

Ghosts of those I’ve loved shuffling away in the smoke

Until only a wolfsong remains

In the darkness and silence

My, I am somber these days, aren’t I?
